Virtual Shelf

With our 3D shelf, we simulate the PoS more realistically than ever before. This saves you not only a lot of time, but above all a lot of money. We explore the potential of your design alternatives with our "best-in-class" shelf. We simulate real purchasing decisions at the PoS for you quickly, simply and affordably. Thanks to 3D technology, individual products can be removed from the shelf with the mouse and viewed from all sides.

This way you can test how your product comes across in a very realistic setting with real competition. Our shelf test delivers valid results within a few days even for large sample sizes and difficult target groups – and that at comparatively low costs.

We use our own platforms to recruit and manage these access pools, which are of excellent quality thanks to careful nurturing and a variety of measures for identifying and reviewing the target persons. Highly specialised target groups can also be recruited from these EARSandEYES online access pools in sufficient numbers.

Naturally, we also work in numerous other European, Asian, South and North American and some African countries and in Australia. In these countries, we cooperate with well-known panel operators with whom we have amassed years of good experiences.

Another first in the German market research landscape is our own child access pool that makes it possible to survey children and youth aged 4 to 15 years.

Almost every fourth person avoids certain foods

Gluten-free rolls, only lactose-free milk: According to a SPIEGEL ONLINE survey, 23 per cent of Germans complain of food intolerances. People who are not affected often have little understanding of this.

23 per cent of Germans avoid certain foods because they say they do not tolerate them. This is one of the results of a representative survey conducted by the market research institution Ears and Eyes on behalf of SPIEGEL ONLINE. 2,450 people aged 18 to 65 provided information on the subject of food intolerances and allergies. 567 stated that there are some foods they never or only rarely eat because they do not tolerate them.

EARSandEYES' own TrendMap locates, visualises and constantly updates the sociocultural trends and megatrends that impact consumption and everyday life. Understanding trends is an important factor when developing new ideas because it calls the status quo into question.

We analyse the trends that are relevant for your market segment, thus supporting your company in generating innovative approaches at the product level and helping you assess the feasibility of new ideas.

Global Trend Research

Our global trend research identifies areas of future growth specifically for your company that can play a direct part in the innovation process.

Around 200 trend reports in 50 of the world's major cities observe their local market and monitor developments relevant to your brand. We match the findings of these store checks and of ethnographic interviews with experts and consumers against the EARSandEYES TrendMap. This enables us to show you how society is changing and what consumers´ needs are to be expected.

MindJournal

Consumers now use mobile devices habitually. That's why we have developed the MindJournal app for authentic surveys conducted "right here, right now".

They produce unfiltered, spontaneous statements regarding situationally based questions. For both spoken and visual contributions, numerous help functions make it easier for those taking the survey to respond immediately, wherever they are, whatever situation they are in. With the Discussion Board online focus group tool, which we ourselves have developed, we offer you moderated threads for broad discussions. Focus groups

Focus groups offer profound and often surprising insights into consumers' thoughts, needs and inhibitions. They provide the ideal setting for discussing almost any topic and examining it in depth. This is also demonstrated by the increased demand for this tool in recent years, which we are satisfying nationally and internationally.

Here our status as a full service institution also brings benefits: from the development of guidelines, selection and recruitment from the target group, through the actual focus group meetings, to the analysis and presentation of findings, we take care of everything and support you at every individual stage. One important key to a successful focus group is selecting the right moderator. For each topic and group we have moderators who steer interaction within the group and its dynamics professionally, and know how to pick up on subjects and questions and develop them. Ideation Workshop

In order to develop specific approaches for better product and service ideas for your brand, we conduct a moderated ideation workshop with you and your team.

With the Line/Portfolio Optimization method, we offer numerous instruments that make useful information available to you so that you can take the best possible actions. Virtual Shelf

We explore the potential of your design alternatives with our "best-in-class" shelf. We simulate real purchasing decisions at the PoS for you quickly, easily and affordably.

Thanks to 3D technology, individual products can even be taken off the shelf and realistically observed from all sides. You can test your product's ability to stand out from your own product range or in a competitive environment. Even for large sample sizes and difficult target groups, you receive valid results about design, brand fit, pricing/price thresholds, sales quantities and customer migration within a few days.

Virtual implementation in the EARSandEYES 3D shelf test makes quick and simple modifications and optimisations possible without the normally associated high costs of prototypes and dummies.

Eye Tracking

With the Eye Tracking module, it is possible to record and assess the unconscious eye movements of the survey participant. If you want to know which elements of your packaging or display draw the shopper's attention or whether your pack is the one on the shelf at which the consumer looks most, it's worth using eye tracking.

We only offer eye tracking in studio tests with appropriate hardware because the results of online solutions based on mouse clicks have failed to convince us thus far. Nonetheless, eye tracking can be combined successfully with online-based techniques when a small part of the sample fill out questionnaires on the monitor in the studio while their eye movements in relation to the stimulus material are recorded. This combination of online and offline market research delivers valid findings at a lower price.

Conjoint

With the Conjoint procedure, we can determine the ideal price for your products or services. Using this approach, a variety of characteristics of the offer are surveyed, some of which also have a subconscious influence on the decision to buy. It is possible to include products from your own range or from relevant competitors.

Here, our virtual 3D sales shelf is an ideal complement to simulate a realistic buying decision.

Product test

At any early development stage, the screening of different potential alternatives comes to the fore. Later, the focus turns to the readiness for market of a developed product and its ability to win out against competitors. Products that are already on the market should also be reviewed on a regular basis. Are you still superior to your competitors or have they caught up with you? Moreover, changed commodity prices, laws, repositioning and cost-saving efforts can make it necessary to "change the recipe".

Depending on the situation, the requirements for product tests differ (e.g. blind vs. branded, monadic vs. sequential-monadic, in-home vs. studio). Ears&Eyes creates an ideal research design for your specific problems.
